Next iPhone To Ditch Physical Home Button, and Here’s How it Might Look Like

In past six generations of Apple’s iPhone we have seen several changes, but the physical home button remained the same, always. Now, we are just couple of months away from the next version of this flagship mobile, it is rumored wildly this too will be changed to a digital version.

It is said the iDevice giant is thinking over ditching the physical home button in its upcoming iPhone and it will be replaced with a new digital option.

Tech website DigiTimes writes Apple is working on a new “touch and display driver integration (TDDI) single-chip solutions for its iPhones.

It adds further integrated fingerprint sensors would be added with the new chips and this will allow the company to design its future smartphones without a home button.

The Taiwanese website also writes the new integrated design to help Apple in coming up with ultra-thin and ultra-narrow phones by ditching the home button.

According to AppleInsider, the company is also looking ahead to make the chip in-house as it has custom designed the A-series processors used in the iPads and iPhones.

These reports may be just rumors, but it is not to forget the iDevice giant had done major research in fingerprint sensor technology in 2012 after the acquisition of AuthenTec. In 2013 the company unveiled Touch ID in its iPhone 5s.

Here’s how the upcoming iPhone would look like without the Home Button:
