Mac Mini Refresh To Be Expected By The End Of February

Famous Belgian retailer hints at the Mac Mini refresh by the end of February, this year. Mac Mini is the last Apple device to get a refresh recently after several others who recently got updated. Most recent refresh of the Mac Mini line-up dates back to the end of 2012.

The retailer website posted placeholder listings for the new Mac Minis powered by the Intel Haswell i5 and i7 CPUs. Mac Mini would be the latest desktop Mac to receive the Intel Haswell update. Although the placeholder listings are just a fuss mostly, they are at times pretty accurate. claims to have collected the information about the February release of the new and powerful aluminium Mac Mini by some reliable sources which were not disclosed for obvious reasons. Apple however hasn’t yet made any such announcement.

The placeholder listings also showed images of the device but that is something we can’t confirm at the moment since the design was exactly the same as the current Mac Mini models. Or Apple might really have changed nothing in the design in the refresh.

Product specifications however differ from the previous models primarily because of the introduction of the new Haswell processors. The detailed specs as quoted by Macrumors are as under.

The Mac mini is equipped with the latest Intel Core i7 processor from Haswell series. This processor is obviously faster than its predecessor, but also uses the powerful Intel Iris graphics. The latest Apple operating system, OS X Mavericks, works very user friendly and communicates seamlessly with other Apple products. So for example you can just get iMessages on your Mac mini. In addition, OS X Mavericks a very secure operating system, you have (almost) not suffer from nasty viruses. The Apple Mac mini with the latest WiFi standard 802.11ac. This will make use of a high speed Gigabit LAN. You are here obviously compatible 802.11ac equipment needed. If you ever want to expand the memory of the Mac Mini, this is easily done by turning the black plate on the bottom and then add additional memory. The Mac Mini has many connections. He is equipped with HDMI, USB 3.0, FireWire and high-speed Thunderbolt connection.

Apple would surely be making an announcement before the launch of the new Mac Mini. Until then, let’s keep our fingers crossed as after the Belgian retailer’s sudden revelations.
