All Things Apple Announced in September 2015 Event

Called the most advanced of iPhones, the iPhone 6s offers new features such as an upgraded, 12-megapixel camera and the new, upgraded 3D touch capability that recognizes your force. The 3D touch senses the amount of pressure a user exerts on its buttons, making it easier to access different menus and functions. The new phones also come with stronger glass and a new rose gold finish. The iPhone 6s will cost $199 when it hits the market.

Also introduced was Apple’s new payment plan called Apple Care Plus. Payment plans start at $39/month, Apple customers can upgrade their phones yearly if they go through Apple. Available in 12 countries, the iPhone 6s will be available for pre-order on September 12.

Apple Pay in the UK

With the launch of Apple Pay last year, this year Apple announced some great news. Apple Pay moved outside of the US and into the UK in July. Apple Pay was designed to make purchases simpler and safer on the iPhones. Apple Pay replaces the wallet with the newest iPhones.

Right now, not every bank supports this method of electronic payment. The ones participating are First Direct, Nationwide Building Society, NatWest, Santander, Ulster Bank, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. More are expected to join so keep checking with your local bank. Many local UK stores now accept Apple Pay and display the decal in their windows.

Apple Pay is more secure than other contactless payment systems. This is because of the requirement of the fingerprint sensor for each payment or transaction. It also means shorter lines and waiting times for those on-the-go.

Apple Watch Update

Arriving September 16th, the Apple Watch receives its first major update. New watch faces and bands, the Apple Watch will hold over 10,000 apps including GoPro, Facebook Messenger, and AirStrip.

Other features include a special Nightstand mode and a Time Travel feature allowing accessibility to upcoming appointments, events, and alarm functions. One of the watch face options allows you to use your own photos. The upgrade also allows the ability to use Apple Pay to store points and cards. You will also have more access to Siri functions.

iPad Pro

The biggest iPad yet, the iPad Pro offers the same things as the iPad 2 and then some. The larger panel has a huge 12.9”display with 2,732 x 2,048 pixels. This larger panel makes multitasking ideal with the newest additions to iOS 9. Side by side viewing lets you do more in less time.

With four speakers up front, the display has more room like a laptop. Apple uses its latest SoC, the A9X, to power the new iPad Pro. Double the memory, graphics performance, and bandwidth over the iPad 2, it is faster than most PCs sold over the past year.

With the iPad Pro, Apple introduces the pencil stylus. Better than its regular counterparts, the pencil is pressure-sensitive and can detect tilt, position, and force. Most of what you can do with a pen, you can use the Apple pencil. Cordless, it easily charges from the Lightning Port of the iPad. Many will be looking forward to the release in November.

OS X El Capitan

The OS X El Capital will be available for public on September 20th. This will tweak and improve performance of the OS X experience.

Apple’s newest operating system, the iOS 9 is scheduled for release on September 16th worldwide. Most upgrades for the iOS 9 focus on making it more efficient, smarter, and faster.

The most noticeable difference will be the new “low power mode” which will allow 3 more hours to battery life. Some tweaks and name changes have been made as well. The notes app will now let you draw. Some name changes will included Passbook to Wallet and Newsstand to News.
